About bKash

bKash was launched in July 2011, in Bangladesh by Kamal Quadir, offering basic services like cash in, cash out and sending money.

Now, bKash is a mobile financial service in Bangladesh, which operates under the authority of Bangladesh Bank and provides safe and easy to make payments and money transfers via mobile phones. It can be accessed via several telephone networks in Bangladesh, both in the rural and urban areas. Since 2018 bKash is the largest provider of mobile financial services in Bangladesh.

Some of the features the service offers to its users are: transferring money from their bank account or card, to any bKash account using the Add Money service; using the Scan QR button in the home screen at stores and shops for making payments; recharging mobile balance or pay postpaid mobile bills for all major mobile network operators; paying their monthly bills such as electricity, gas, internet, and other services; pay for food delivery, online shopping, bus, train, launch and air tickets, movie tickets, hotel booking for traveling, and many more.

In 2017, Fortune Magazine ranked bKash as the 23rd company in their annual list “Change the World” among other 50 important companies who made big social changes.
